Reports in from my dad of a light aircraft crashing at Shoreham Airport on takeoff (he lives just south of the airport, and can see the airfield/runway from his back garden). Said he saw it veer off the runway and crash into the bushes next to the A27. No fire thankfully, the emergency vehicles are there now and people are climbing out, said it looks like it was a 6 to 8 seater. The nose is embedded in the bushes apparently.

Blimey. Sounds like that could've been a LOT worse. Hopefully everyones ok.

If so, that's St Davids Gate on Penstone Park in the middle of Lancing.

It's one of the world's oldest airports. I doubt there was even much of Lancing there when it was built?
