He had the vision to see that we were signing AJ and decided it was worth the trip to drum up support in the region even though he is from Iran

Much as I question how LRM got those trips and to what benefit they were I do need to point out these were trips paid for by either business or a foreign government NOT claimed via expenses. I bet Caroline used an airplane as well !

He's on the International Development Committee and as far as I can see was part of a delegation looking at how our foreign aid is spent , e.g. immunisation programmes - doesn't seem particularly unreasonable?!

I believe the reverse allegedly happens in Uxbridge and South Ruislip.
Where the constituents actually pay travel expenses, out of their own pockets to keep Boris Johnson away!

Personally, I might feel equally worried about those who did not claim expenses - if it transpires that their expenses were paid for by a foreign country / pressure group / commercial company (so no need to reclaim from the UK taxpayer).
What would they feel obliged to do to 'repay the favour'?

Can't see the issue with any of this.
Tiny sums all round and most look like for legitimate business.

quite, and if they arent taking any trips why not?

cant really see the issue with expenses within reason. its what we expect of people doing business. suspicious what anyone needs to goto Bahrain though, and couldnt Lucas have teleconferenced to help save the planet?
