The tiger's tails from the '60's were better.

I know we had a couple of them there highly useful breakdown emergency lamp/torch/hazard light thingies on a great black hanging strap.

Possibly a flask too.

My brother worked at Esso and managed to "acquire" lots of tiger tokens. He used to give me the catalogue and ask me what I wanted for my birthday (I was about 7 at the time). The one thing I remember him getting me was a Bush Radio Alarm Clock; I had it for at least 10 years.

All their products were good quality. I remember getting quite a few set of towels, of all things. Can't remember what else I got then, but doing 40-odd thousand miles a year led to a load of tokens!

I got the cap, T-shirt and bum bag and I wore them all at once.

In hindsight this was a terrible decision.

I think Dad got a set of milk glasses with Gotta Lotta Bottle emblazoned upon them. He genuinely looked gutted when I dropped one at the table during Sunday Roast. Soaking the beef joint and roasties in milk and cracking the glass clean in two. I don't think he had the patience to save them up for anything substantial.

During the early 90s I rocked the shirt, the cap, the bumbag and the drink bottle. Sometimes simultaneously, sometimes solo!

EDIT: Sometimes sideways too apparently...

Was that the Esso T Shirt?
