Help! Water seeping through ceiling.

Our normal one is not available.

Any suggestions of anyone that could come tomorrow morning would be great.

We've used Neal Lees in the past for boiler installation and they were very good, not too expensive, well trained polite and competent staff, couldnt fault them

So with water seeping through the ceiling the first thing you did was spark up the old computer for a bit of NSC.

Like it. :lolol:

The only person giving will be the OP. A large cheque to a plumber, then another one to a plasterer, then another on to a painter & decorator, then possibly another to a sparky..

We may be 80% water and can't live without it, but it can be a right shit when it wants.

Surely your household insurance will cover all of that?

They may well not cover the plumber's work, but will almost certainly cover all of the damage / remedial works.

Yep if the cost is more than the excess.

Well, if it isn't, then you've either got pretty high excess, or the leak wasn't very serious!

We had one in our old place, caused by a little water seeping out through a tiny crack in a (plastic) bath tub, each time anyone used it, over a period of several weeks. Eventually under the bath got entirely sodden, and ultimately dripped through the kitchen ceiling below.

Insurance paid for the decorator to sort the kitchen ceiling, an electrician just to come and safety check the electrics / lights, and a plumber to replace not just the tub, but the toilet and the basin, too, as they couldn't find a match for the disgusting 1970's avocado bath!

All because somebody dropped a shampoo bottle, top down, into the bath while having a shower, and made a tiny crack.

Pretty sure ours will be something similar. Plumber minutes away apparently. Nervous times.

So what happened? Did the ceiling move for you?[emoji2175]
