...that's not the news from the game.

As a mascot Los Pepineros (The Cucumber Growers) have Super Pepino he's a giant, seven-foot tall cucumber. Leganes like to call him "the Cucumber Knight" and he is sort of a cross between a Teenage Mutant Hero Turtle, Zoro and a cucumber:-

Yet that still isn't the big news from the game, Leganes' really ought to have moved away from cucumbers when designing their Player of the Season award:-

Finally for those of you who know where this news came from:-

As per longstanding tradition, Leganes still present the visiting team with a box of cucumbers.

I like that.

Here's a great write up on both top team's defeats by the wonderful Sid Lowe

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...real-madrid-la-liga-underdogs-leganes-sevilla

"some of the worst defending since some bright spark in Troy said: “Ooh, look at that nice horsey, let’s wheel him in.”" :lolol:

Although Barca are often just equated with Messi they were always going to miss Iniesta, even if he could only manage 55 minutes a game last season. Everything went through him and Lowe's observation that Barca had no width, no control, no imagination, no creativity testifies to that. Might be an interesting season in Spain for a change, but don't put your house on it.
