Another massive game for our boys.

Chilly but dry up North.

Will be time for plenty of overs to get a result up there.

Luke Wright not in squad.

Looks like it's between Burgess and Rawlins for a batting slot

Looks like a decent pitch. Interestingly, the wickets are complete with bails. I always thought that before and between play at least one of the wickets should be broken/left incomplete.

??? (only joking)
:lolol: Glad you spotted it. I love using the word "interestingly" to preface an observation of that type. Mrs G assures me that it is extremely humorous...

We'll surely bowl first here?
You'd have thought so but I guess anything is possible. What have the scores been like at Chester-le-Street this year?

The umpires are out in the middle and one of them just fiddled with the bails...

Wandering out of shot again now...

Middlesex (27-1) and Leicestershire (26-1) have both lost their first wicket...

Looks like its brightening up a bit.
Depends where the weather's coming from but it usually comes from over there and that doesn't look too bad.
We should be able to get started fairly soon hopefully.

Burgess in Wright. I'd have been tempted to put Rawlins in for Briggs - not sure how much spin will be needed

Yes... must have been a decision to make, especially bowling first. Hopefully will turn out to be a good call with Briggs making a useful contribution.

Looks like a further delay but hopefully not for long. Umpires are out in the middle taking readings and Jordan has stayed with them so far.
