[Albion] On and On Song

Saladpack Seagull

Just Shut Up and Paddle
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but please could someone fill me in on the Albion lyrics to this chant, which I heard so much of in the North Stand on Sunday, but couldn't quite decipher with my cloth ears. Even my daughter, who DOES have an ear for these things, couldn't help. I listened carefully, but the middle bit, in typically rapid North Stand fashion, sounded to me like a 45 being played at 78 (one for the teenagers there). Any help gratefully received.

It's not on and on but I don't know what that bit is!

I'm presuming it's the Stephens one...

Oh way oh
Dale Stephens our midfielder
Oh way oh
He plays with Davy Propper
Oh way oh
He never gives the ball away.........
1,2,3,4

One of my least favourite chants tbh, especially as (as much as he is actually quality) he quite frequently gives the ball away.

With due deference to Mo White and lyricist Allee Willis, the official lyrics that Phillip Bailey was singing on the EWF record were "Bay-dee ya" - not "Eh Oh Eh". Another one for the mis-heard lyrics list.

Nor did he mention Stephens or Propper

Not sure that there is a requirement for a song to be factually correct? Much though I love the Albion I'm not convinced they are the greatest team the world has ever seen for example! :lolol:

That is crazy talk. I think most of the songs are correct, for instance my mother quite often told me to shoot the palace scum.

I've always sung the lyrics

Oh-Eh-Oh.
Stephens gonna kill ya
Oh-Eh-Oh
Next to Davy Propper
Oh-Eh-Oh
Never gives the ball away
Oh-Eh-Oh
1,2,3,4

Have you tried Otex?

I find the 1-2-3-4 really ****ing annoying.

2-3-4 is enough to count in, folks.
