Max Meyer must be wondering where this great, ambitious Premier League team he joined last season is?

Last season's Player of the Year Wan-Bissaka has disappeared up the M6; club talisman Zaha is desperate for the exit; the goalkeeper makes nazi salutes but seemingly has never heard of Hitler or WWII - and the club's close season highlight - proudly trumpted to fans in an email? They have fixed the holes in the Holmesdale roof and given the bogs a rinse.

Still, at least the new stand must be well under way.

Don't forget the resounding 5-0 victory over Bristol City in pre-season, but losing to mighty Bromley & Barnet, and a creditable 2-2 draw with AFC Wimbledon

Last seasons final table would say that yes, indeed we did.

By the end of this window we are going to be significantly strengthened, whilst they are going to be very much weakened, even if the SEGW stays. So its all good.

I would imagine Hodgson's head came within a few metres of Wilf and he did his usual?
