On the Border
Field placings for a limited overs game from another era, slips, gully, silly mid off and short square leg.

Without the test ban on South Africa, Procter's status in the game would have been even higher

I was at Old Trafford when the famous twilight game was played in the mid-1970s. Pretty sure he started his bowling run from the boundary rope. A class act.

He seems a bit slimmer in the clip in the opening post than I remember....thought he carried more than a few extra pounds?

Saw him a few times and he was a brilliant all-rounder. The 73 Gillette Cup Final between Sussex and Glos was billed as a showdown between him and Tony Greig and there was no doubt who won that.

This - Proctor was a fantastic allrounder. Bowled off the 'wrong foot' too.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
I saw him live a few times. Terrifyingly quick.
