Station announcement yesterday at Stoneleigh (Surrey)...

"We are sorry to announce the cancellation of the 0809 service to Waterloo due to heavy rain."

My favourite was the delayed train I was on.

The cause: "A severe fatality.."

I don't see the problem. My 8.23 train was delayed by 50 minutes the other day. But this was more than made
up for by the fact that the 9.23 came in 10 minutes early.

There have been random downpours. Wimbledon had to stop for 15 mins the other day. Tunbridge Wells had a flash flood & the trains had to stop.

So parochial. If it isn't happening here, it isn't happening anywhere.

(It was as dry as a nun's nazi in each direction the whole length of the track.)

My favourite train announcement ever came one morning a few months back at Brighton station

"Please stand back on platform three, the approaching train does not stop here":eek::eek::eek:

But it stops next to the platform. I guess that's their point.

Or not.
