I noticed on the website that people parking in the university areas this season should prepare for some disruption. I emailed the club for clarification and received the following reply from the Travel Manager via customer services and thought I would share;

"We have two fixtures that clash with Sussex Universities applications days and those are:

Saturday 9th February v Burnley

Saturday 13th April v AFC Bournemouth

However please note, that we had similar clashes last season and we protected our contractually agreed spaces for all three matches, plus this season the University are having a multi-story car park built that will give them a further 250 spaces, hence I do not see any parking problems for our supporters."

Early season could be interesting for Mithras House given the huge development taking place across the campus there. The multi story won't be ready until January at the earliest and there are restrictions on parking until then.

Just what Brighton needs provision for even more cars.

Having won the battle to get The Amex could we not try for a 2 or 3 level car park built above the existing one which wouldnt damage the outllline to badly but I wonder if the cost would be viable.

Do we need more parking spaces then? Current provision seems about right.

Or use public transport?

Getting out of a multistory carpark after a game - always an absolute joy.

I had a wonderful motionless hour and a bit at Reading one season. Never again.

Ever.

Seeing as they didn't get planning permission for the hotel on the site of the empty house next to the station I doubt they'd get permission for that.

Cool story, bro

edit: That sounds a bit rude. I was expecting some information that might affect my arrival/departure times next season. Or something :lolol:

Nothing beats Preston. Ninety minutes of my life I'll never see again.

Biggest non thread ever.

Likewise, Bridge Car Park will still be rubbish presumably?

Or use public transport?

Exactly this. In an ideal world that is precisely what people should be doing. I wouldn't be at all surprised if behind the scenes, the club are looking to reduce the provision for parking not increase it, and encourage fans to use the, generally speaking let's face it, excellent public transport options to and from the Amex. We are even able to use it free of charge thanks to the travel subsidy.
