Would be happy with Button and Steele as 2nd and 3rd choices respectively. Two HGPs.

Welcome to Jason.

Great chance to rebuild his career. A pity we had to hear from the loud Sunderland pitchfork mob before he signed, but he was a good keeper once so best ignore those knifemen and look forward not back.

been reading couple of other forums and they think he was pretty bad also.

Still , has a decent CV so must be a decent keeper in there. Only has to be a back up and as importantly a decent character in the changing room.

A direct quote from my Sunderland supporting boss:

'Good luck, he's crap. I'd give you a game before him'!

I think I'll reserve judgement and see for myself, boss!

An odd move, He must realise he isn't likely to play any part unless Ryan is injured.

I'm more than happy with just 2 goalkeepers over the age of 23. an additional place in the squad for an outfield player would be much more beneficial

Is he a cross between Jason King and Remington Steele?

Tim Krul was such a good keeper a few years ago, I thought he end up as Newcastle number 1, strange how things work out, he's only 30 as well. It's going to be hard for anyone to replace Ryan though he is such a good keeper very underrated.
