Really good shout! Despite the claims however, it is not the site of the birth of the FA. That would be The Grand Connaught Rooms round the corner, which was at the time known as The Freemason's Tavern. The Freemason's Arms is the spiritual home though and a great pub to watch football in.
The Maple Leaf despite being a Canadian pub, is always great for live sport as well.

The Sports Cafe is nearby - not the nicest place but will no doubt be a good atmosphere, it's on Haymarket by Piccadilly Circus
