To be fair, I think the official social media team should stay well clear of things like this.

Funny yes, but not very professional and can easily backfire on them.

Personally I'd actively encourage it. "Official" social media is usually about as interesting as an audit. I'd much rather see some pisstaking.

Frankly who cares, I like the fact that someone tried to stitch up Southampton, and I loved the response (on the pitch and on twitter). Football's too dry, bit of nonsense like this adds to it all doesn't it?
