MaCauley was Manager when I first went . We had him, then Goodwin and then the great Pat Saward who took us up. That Seward team was good to watch in that promotion year. It went tits up quick once up there though. Then tack the Taylor and Clough bit it then. That’s a formative part of my years.

And very promptly relegated.

If I remember rightly, and I was only a kid,but, even the promotion season was about the least exciting promotion ever.

It was my first promotion and like that first kiss....... you never forget it. Imagine coming into this as a new fan and falling in love. Bastarddds they’re not done their time...... swines.

My first one as well, but, I only really remember the Villa game, and the last two, Rotherham and Rochdale I think, maybe.
