[Politics] North Korea Stopping Nuclear Tests.

Not seen a thread on this.

Is this a genuine step forward or another ‘play’ but the NK regime?

Should Trump be congratulated for getting Kim to stop, or is he being fooled?

Cautiously optimistic, but can’t trust the NK regime. If it leads to a genuine peace on the Korean Peninsula then it’s one less hotspot in the world.

Cynical thinking but he may stop testing as he has achieved his aim!

He's still keeping his tested weapons.

At no point have North Korea mattered. I fully believe that. They are INCREDIBLY poor, and all the grandstanding was and is purely for their own population.

Once a nutter always a nutter, not good news.

It's better than not stopping them. How great that turns out to be in the grand scheme of things remains to be seen.

What about Kim though?.

Seriously, if this does lead to a good outcome, then Trump deserves some credit. (As much as this will stick in the throat of many people).

Why does he? How do we know Kim hadn't already planned to stop? Does Kim also deserve some credit?

Is it not possible that China or Russia had a few words in Kim's ear?
