Intention to harm a player is irrelevant in this case. Agree it's accidental, but studs were too high. Tight call, but judged by the letter of the law. Brave decision from the ref.

Agree. Not a red for me but in the modern game it's borderline therefore the FA will back the ref

Having seen that not a red...both players sliding in....as most players were all match....but don't bother appealing you won't get it

Keep changing my mind. Thought it was red during the game but not convinced watching the highlights after the game. This clip shows why it is red - dangerous play.
Thought it was red when I saw it live and having seen MOTD, even more convinced. We'd be spitting mad if a player did that against us,
I do agree with Danny Murphy though when he says there are too many reds in the modern game - that probably wouldn't have been a foul 40 years ago. But in today's environment, straight red.
