The Manager of the Month award he received earlier in March for his team’s unbeaten excellence in February was the first ever time a black manager had ever been awarded that prize. Wow. Should shout that a bit louder.

Put Pep in charge of a team that doesn't have the most money and the very best talent in the world. Then lets see if he's still Manager of the Year.

N.B. That's not to say I haven't really enjoyed watching their football this season because it has been breath taking at times. He's also brought the best out of Sterling as well.

Should be decided on sartorial elegance.

So many managers have ballsed up having the most money and the very best talent in the world.
Pep's achievements are tainted by the playing field he has still done it.

I know they have. I mean, we all have the same fantasy credits and roster to chose from, and look how that usually turns out

It would be fascinating though to see what would happen if he swapped places with, let's say, our Chris or Dyche.

I like Pep, especially during his Barca years and I'm not anti Citeh.

But personally I don't think either Citeh or ManUre managers should get the award, where currently they're the two biggest spenders in world football with £800m and £750m squads. It's the way of the world, but they're simply buying the best 22 players each and buying trophies. It's the main reason they lead Spuds and Liverpool in the table, and get over the line in gathering silverware.

To me Pochettino, Dyche and Hughton have performed better with their particular resources.

That’s my argument as to why Jose is/was a much better manager than Pep.

I can imagine that Jose could keep these sides up, Pep wouldn’t.

He’s not actually achieved anything major in my view.

Buying ready made WC players or going to a club that already has the best squad.

Dyche is Manager of the year for me.

Yes! Pep should try the Championship for his next challenge

Whilst I agree with most of what you say, I can't just assume that Pep wouldn't perform at a less well resourced club. That's exactly my point - we just don't know because he's never had to try. Also, as Stat Brother rightly points out, there's plenty of other managers that could be shipped into teams with the most money and best players and then not get the same results as Pep has.

Absolutely this - completely agree. Spuds and Liverpool doing well to be even close.

So why the honourable mention for Pochettino, but none for Klopp? - he's done an equally good job in keeping Liverpool up and amongst the top clubs.

No we shouldn't.

I find it a mild source of irritation that his skin colour even comes into it, as if it actually has any real relevance. What bloody difference does it make ? Its weird how creed comes into consideration whenever he achieves something.

I think Klopp's doing a good job in moulding an attacking, attractive team, but it's controversial to mention on NSC with a hard core of Klopp haters.
