I’ve just ordered three cheese football packets. Just because I can.

This is clearly wrong. What else is wrong with this have what you want all the time world of ours?

Ps) just six left at Amazon.

Can I verify: are we talking about the cheese footballs that are a crispy shell containing a soft cheese filling?

If so, well played.

We finished our Christmas stock of the very same a week or so back. But I bought a shit load.

I'm still coming to terms with the RIDICULOUS concept that I am indulging in right now.

I have a packet of Walkers Worcester Sauce flavoured crisps on my left. A glass of red wine. And I'm sporting a pair of Bluetooth earphones, connected to Alexa. I'm sitting here, barking out random songs from 30-odd years ago that I just FANCY hearing, literally whatever occurs to me. The last of which was "New Life" by Depeche Mode. Its in my ears now. Brilliant. No seriously - BRILLIANT. I mean christ, this technology is bordering on alien. No wires. And an infinite musical archive quite literally at my voice command. I mean...come on.

I'm not sure if this counts as gluttony, as such. But if we're talking modern world...we've NEVER had it so good.

I tendered, won and project managed a $200k cabinetry fit out of an apartment which had cost the purchaser $1.5mil.
It had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and was huge.
The client was a single guy, a successful businessman in his mid 40's and this was to be his 'weekend in the city' apartment.
All through the process and site visits I could see the opulence of the furnishings and fittings that were going in.
I am not saying that it is wrong for people to do this sort of thing, but I really couldn't help thinking about how much this exercise was going to cost in the end and what better uses in the community that this amount of money could have been used for.
Do people really need to live in this fashion ?
He could have bought a 3 bedroom apartment built to a very good standard and fitted it out with quality for a million all up.
I found it quite vulgar to be honest and was pleased when my part was over.
It is so strange how many people choose not live in the real world, or distance themselves so far away from it so that they do not have to deal with it.
Once on site, I made a comment to one of the other contractors with reference to this sort of thing and I think word may have got back, as the client didn't seem to be able to look me in the eye anymore.

Listening to Welcome to the Pleasure Dome. Stunning album and instantly transports me to first holiday with mates in a static caravan in New Forest and redecorating the interior after consuming far too much cider which gave me a life time aversion to the stuff.

You do understand that your clients spending gave you and many other contractors work....that earn't you money....that you spent in shops.....that gave the manufacturers money....that paid the staff their wages.....and so on ....?

Would you rather he have kept his money stuffed under a mattress...?

Yes, that's exactly what he would rather. That's why he wrote:

"I really couldn't help thinking about.... what better uses in the community that this amount of money could have been used for."

He must have definitely been thinking about stuffing it under a mattress and certainly not anything useful like building hospitals, housing the homeless, dealing with social care issues or paying everyone in the UK to gob on Piers Morgan every time he spoke in public.

No, I would rather that he spent enough to be comfortable and used the rest to help the less fortunate, we all would have found work so wouldn't have suffered as much as folk who need real help.

Sorry I'm too busy watching VR Porn and getting sucked off by a robot to answer your thread. Maybe later.

If I could afford to spend all them aussie dollars, you wouldn't see my arse for dust. Must be great to be able to distance yourself away from the masses of the great unwashed.
Only joking. I'd have my team of servants hand out warm winter clothing......which, if you think of it, is pointless as I would be in Australialand spending aussie dollars???
