[Football] Ref colour clashes?

The laws always used to say that players and the goalkeepers must wear colours that do not clash with match officials, but noticed at some of our games that law is ignored. Indeed tonight the Rochdale keeper is in all black as is the ref.
Now I know refs don't go into the box, but surely the laws should be obeyed?

Is that true? Anyway keepers can go anywhere

You never see a retro in the box apart from perhaps a pen.

Yelldel was made to change his jersey to our pink kit, at Leeds, because the ref was wearing yellow.


I have noticed colour clashes in the last two or three seasons.

Funny but I have that actual pink jersey.
