[Other Sport] Sledging Not an Olympic Sport

This came up in the car back from Stoke on Saturday.

Why is the simplest Winter Sport not an Olympic Sport.

Get a Hill, any hill but preferably a bit undulating. Singles/Pairs/Cram as many on as possible.

If you fall off and the sledge beats you to the finish (often the case), your time is for the last person that frankly tumbles over the line in a heap.

Simple, Raw competition with some "Coopers Hill Cheese Rolling" type fun to boot. The campaign starts here...

Can it be that you don’t even need to use a sledge? Old tea tray, old suitcase, anything flat that looks like it would slide down a snowy hill.

what about snowballing? There has to be a way that this can be turned into a sport, again singles , doubles, team. Points awarded for hits on either targets or better-the opposition- maybe 1 point for torso, 2 for head (general) 3 for right on the hooter!

What are your thoughts on the Team GB speedsuits? (As modelled here by Mica McNeill.)

How about road gritter racing, although we would be crap at that event as well as at the start we would always go to early or too late

If the Winter olynpics were to be a bit more brit friendly, we would need Calling in to tell your boss you can't get to work due to snow, Granny slipping and posting pictures on facebook of snow in your own garden, to be events.
