They can be good. But like anything that involves public performing a fair few narcissists have got involved but when you get a good one they're great.

I watch them quite often as the speakers are usually good and the format keeps them to the point. I found 'The Power of Introverts' by Susan Cain quite a revelation as it started to explain some of my emotions and preferences, particularly when growing up, things which I had been told were weaknesses to be fixed.

There's some good stuff on there - Ken Robinson is interesting - but the site is now chocka with average stuff
