[Albion] Message to young fans and their mums and dads

We’ve all seen the footage of the boy asking, and being given, Hazard’s shirt.
I’m not going to criticise a child and I’m sure it made his year.
But I don’t believe he, or his dad, reflect most of our fans.
Most junior Seagulls would (I hope) only want to be given a shirt worn by a player wearing stripes.
So how about at the West Ham we show support to OUR players (and perhaps help stop this inferiority complex we seem to have against some clubs).
It would be epic if all young fans came to the game and held signs saying ‘Lewis Dunk (or whoever) please can I have your shirt’.
If you see a slightly older supporter holding a Schellotto sign, come and say hello to Dale Jasper!
Just a thought.

The whole thing is a complete storm in a tea cup! Really couldn’t give a toss if a young lad wants Hazard’s shirt! What a first world issue!

One day some folk will realise it's not a war of civilisations.

It's twenty two men kicking a bag of air around a patch of grass.

People get so tribal about it they start picking on little kids for recognising talent and daring to have heroes from another team.

Lord have mercy.

I wish we'd have done this 15 odd years ago with the former players.

Please can I have your shirt.

OP is just trying to gather support for our team. I’m sure our players would appreciate that kind of backing. Can’t do any harm can it and it’s more like to help than someone holding up a sign for Andy Carroll or whoever.

Who’s picking on little kids?

I haven’t seen anyone picking on the kid?

The Dad, however, is a massive tool.

I used to have a Chelsea shirt when I was 11 - wicked yellow le coq sportif...also had Man U...and Villa and St Etienne and of course the British Caledonian Albion.

But that was when I was a pre-teen. Think it’s acceptable for that age. Hope the Hazard shirt lad keeps the shirt but grows into a fully fledged Albion fan. The number of kids wearing the stripes compared to a few years ago is amazing.

Some of the vitriol about shirt-kid is a joke.

So how many Man Utd shirts would you have over Albion shirts mate?
Giggs? Chaltons? Bryan Robson?

Mouldy, could this be a way for you to get your junior seagulls shirt?

Time and time again we do things as fans and as a club which make us look provincial and as though we somehow have no right to be at the top table. Stoke and West Spam would be places where as a previous poster has referred, regardless of the respect you have for any opponent, you would be behind your club in a tribal fashion, or it's just like a night out at the theatre surely.

As i am sure you well know mate it's the principle and it would only be acceptable if Barber gave it to my daughter.
