Albion are away to Shrewsbury Town as the season opening Friday evening TV game.

Should be an interesting fresh start after the summer departures of Stephens, Dunk, Duffy and Gross. March and Skalak should finally get some joy against Shrewsbury's fullbacks.

Yesterday is history,
Tomorrow is a mystery,
Today is a gift,
That’s why they call it the present.

A season that goes backwards. Novel.

Just back from the game... clearly I'm disappointed with the result, there was plenty of positives.

I like the way Calderon has us setup as well, 3-5-2 suits our players, but we still need a striker.

CMS had a decent game, maybe we should set the team up around him this time?

Who knows what tomorrow brings,
In a world few hearts survive?
All I know is the way I feel
When it's real, I keep it alive
The road is long
There are mountains in our way
But we climb a step every day

The masterstroke has been bringing back John Crumplin. He looked superb today. Used his complete lack of pace brilliantly.

Totally dominated a 5m radius area just inside our half.

Linked up brilliantly with Clive Walker

Agreed FG may have slowed down but he still jumps for headers like a salmon

With Wilkins and Codner not letting anything or anyone go past them in the middle I can see us doing well this season
