Depends on how 'cheap' you want it. Can still get a return from Euston to Stoke for less than £30, leaving on the 09:46 and back on the 17:50. Obviously you have to find the extra to get to Euston.....
Who tips on any train let alone a cheap one ?

A bit of advice for you. Try researching individual train company sites for best deals. For example on Chiltern Railways you can get advance single tickets from Marylebone to Birmingham (and back) for £5.50 each for the day of the Stoke game. Virgin are doing a deal for Birmingham to Stoke for £8.00 going and £6.50 coming back. Add it all up and that comes to the princely sum of £25.50. Not a bad deal eh? A bit of buggering around maybe but at least you save on the dosh!
