Presumably we can include players who are not in our 25 for the Prem?

If so I'd go with something like:
Krul
Rosenior
Hunemeir
Goldson
Bong/Suttner
Kayal
Molumby
March
Ahannach
Baldock
Hemed

There will be 4 or 5 new signings playing!

But seriously. CH will want to win. 80% of that team will have forgotten how to kick a ball!!

Good 2nd string team!

Who would be your captain?

I’d pick Rosenior!

Rest a few, play a few. I'd like a win.

I'd like to see a mixture of first teamers and squad players, so:

4-4-2

Krul
Rosenior
Goldson
Duffy
Bong
Knockaert
Kayal
Sidwell (is he fit? Propper if not)
March
Baldock
Hemed

Throw in all the kids (preferably the U18s) so we don't have to play a fourth round match too. But as it's palarse, play the first team, beat them, then let the U18s loose on Man. City or someone in round four.

(That should make most people happy, but I'd much rather play to win all the way through. A Europa spot awaits the winners (and probably the runners up - we were out of luck with that in '83), and we aren't going to experience Europe through league positions).

We don't want a Europa League spot. With a smallish squad it would mean far too many games and our league performance would suffer.

I'd pay money to watch any of the teams mentioned (1st squad only, not U23).
But £25 and all the hassle of pre & post match security and sitting in the coach for 45 minutes makes me wonder why I am.

If it wasn't for the fact that it's palarse we're playing, I'd go for that.

.....but maybe that team could beat palarse reserves anyway.

At the end of my tether
In the future ,as an established Prem. Club , the cup will be massively important as the only feasible route to glory. Now though it is an irrelevance. We must concentrate on league points. So....
Palace or not, I would rest players , give the fringe people a shop window in January. Never mind the result.

After a busy November/December ending with 4 games in 9 days our first team players need a well earned 7 day winter break starting today, with full training being picked up again on Tuesaday or Wednesday next week. I hope the OP is correct with his probable line up.

Results from our EPL matches coming up in Jan and Feb will be far more important than the result from a fixture between Palace and our own back up players next Monday evening.

On reflection, Murphy rather than March.

CP have an injury crisis at CB with Sakho, Dann and Ward all injured.

Puncheon out for the season apparently after his horror tackle on De Bruyne.

We are fortunate in that we have virtually a complete squad to pick from. I would go:
Ryan
Schelotto
Suttner
Hunemeier
Goldson
March
Kayal
Stephens
Iziquierdo
Baldock
Hemed

but I suspect CH will rest more of the regulars.
