Apparently there's a second series on its way. Anyone know when the first episode of the new series is due please?, as I can't find the info anywhere.

Yes - I'd be very interested to know this too.

I loved the first series. It was a bit of an acquired taste but soon become essential viewing for me when it was repeated on BBC1 on Saturday nights after MoTD.

Big fan of This Country, I kept seeing the trailers but didn't actually watch it at first. Definitely appeals to my silly sense of humour.

Thanks, but unless I'm missing something, that only tells me what I already know.

I know there's a second series commissioned, but when does it start is the info I'm after.

There is a Twitter account called This Country fan club, a tweet from yesterday said new series in 2 months, no exact date though.

BBC and comedy in the same sentence? This must be some mistake

Mrs Brown's Boys
The Kumars..............

Detectorists.

But I take your point. Detectorists and This Country are the only two I've found that I like.

I assume we are talking about the original Porridge and not the remake which is just awful. /yes the BBC had good comedy shows in the 1970s but now?

The last two on the list were hardly the 70's !

So many to choose from,

Fall and Rise of Reggie Perrin?

Haven't really taken to "This Country" although the younger Pottings like it. I have observed that the female main character wears a Swindon Town shirt.
