Old question but unable to find a reference. I have some newbie first-timers coming from Eastbourne tomorrow.

Do they need to buy a ticket as far as Lewes? When does it start getting busy?

Have never used the eastbound so I have no idea.

Ticket covers Eastbourne. Polegate gets busy at around 1:15 so 1:00 if they want a seat.
