used it just yesterday being introduced to somebody.
seemed far more polite than "all right mate" or " howya doin".

A touch more classy than the following Americanisms used by most people under the age of 35 and a bit :

Hi guys, what can I get you? (Are you ready to order now?)

I'm good. (I'm very well, thank you.)

I'm good to go. (I'm ready.)

Hi yaa! (Hello.)

I'm sure there are loads more but I really can't be arsed to rack my brains except to wish you all a very pleasant day, and, to inform you that I am doing very well, thank you.

An elderly great aunt of a schoolfriend asked me this dreaded question once and I had no idea of the required response. I was sure that such people followed some sort of code but I had no clue as to what was needed...

In the event I blushed and stumbled my way through "very well, thank you". I still don't know, but suspect the correct answer is the slightly bizarre "How do you do?".... ????

The correct reply is to also say how do you do?

What does it actually mean? How do you do what ?
Boil an egg, make a flan , the misses?
Never understood what is meant by this greeting.

"I'm good" makes perfect sense and is grammatically correct.
