With us currently ahead of Southampton, Bournemouth and of course Portsmouth, it made me wonder when this last happened?

I’m guessing it was early 1980s or have we managed it since?

Probably 1958/59.

Albion were in Division 2 with Pompey (relegated). Southampton were a division below (champions) with Bournemouth and Boscombe in the basement.

No, it was 1959/60.

Brighton 14th. division 2;
Pompey 20th. division 2;
Saints 1st. in division 3;
B'muff 10th. division 3.

Northern Hemisphere.
2011 after our 1st game at the Amex beating Doncaster?

The Albion, Portsmouth and Southampton were the 3 highest positiond south coast teams that season all playing in the Championship. Unless Southampton were always ahead of us that season, then surely it was then?
