Crystal Palace fans get upset watching Brighton

Crystal Palace v Brighton
One of the strangest but fiercest derbies in the Premier League this season will arise when Crystal Palace face Brighton.

Often dubbed unlikely rivals, hatred between rival supporters is always on show in any match between the Eagles and the Seagulls.

The Palace-Brighton feud is sourced back to 1976, when Palace appointed Terry Venables as manager whilst Albion named Alan Mullery as their new boss.

Venables and Mullery were themselves rivals in the world of football dating back to their time together as Tottenham players, and a series of matches in the late 70s between the two sides transcended the managers’ dislike of each other onto the respective groups of fans.

More recently, in 2013 the feud was stoke by “Poogate”.

Back then, Crystal Palace won promotion to the Premier League after they beat Brighton in the Championship playoffs.

According to reports at the time, the away dressing room at Brighton’s ground was smeared with poop after the game.

Glenn Murray v Southampton
Brighton too on Southampton on Sunday in the Premier League.

The visitors went into the break 1-up thanks to Steven Davis’s header after a free-kick cannoned back off the bar.

Brighton levelled in the second half through Glenn Murray, who headed home a Pascal Gross cross from the right.

Murray now has two goals in two games. That means he’s now scored as many goals in his last two Premier League games as he managed in his previous 28!

In total, Murray has three EPL goals for the season.

Of course, Murray was a former Palace player.

And Murray keeps finding the target at a time when the Eagles don’t have a recognised striker to pick in their squad.

See how Crystal Palace fans got upset watching Brighton v Southampton below.

People still think Murray wasn't good enough for us? Was good enough 2 years ago, still good enough now. #CPFC

Glenn Murray is a very underrated striker. Was underused by Palace imo and doing a good job for Brighton

He's a player who now really knows his game, so can keep performing and achieving despite his limitations. He got us promoted, went to Palace and got them promoted, then back to us and got us promoted again. No relegations in that time and he is probably one of the more under-rated strikers of the past decade

SO many inaccuracies in that article I cba to point them all out. Mainly Murray has 3 in 2 and 'poogate' wasn't 'after' the game - and it should say it was palace that did it etc..!
