Grossly misjudged. They are literally laughing in the faces of anyone that has spoken up about sexual assault as part of the #metoo campaign.
I suspect #metoo is making plenty of us feel uncomfortable, there's no way round that unfortunately. The idea is we do something about it both individually and collectively, not make crass jokes to try and play it down. That's how this power structures that contribute to conspiracies of silence around these matters happen.
It saddens me that two high profile political figures could be so blind as to what is going on around them to get this so wrong regardless of any apologies.
