Ooh, now that's a little harsh - I know as someone who is bringing up children with special needs that it can be draining financially as well as emotionally and physically. I am sure the target that was originally set was a modest one, which Adam is delighted to have reached, but hitting that target doesn't make the need go away, and any extra will help.
Having said all that, I walk a lot into my local town and having been confronted by the same set of chuggers, trying to get me to sign up to help deaf children, on at least 8 occasions in two days I wanted to tell them to go **** themselves, politely obviously, as they are collecting for the needy!

No offence and certainly will not be taken in the wrong way.
It was good of you to spend the time and have a read.
It's just as much raising awareness of the horrible syndrome as it is getting donation's.
But just to give you an idea of costs a specialist wheel chair with a carry cot for Emily's little brother was nearly £3600.The eye gazing equipment that she needs to be able to communicate was over £3000.
In the past they have travelled 500 miles a month for treatment, appointment's etc.
The costs go on and on with very little help from social services etc.
My son and family will have to move house to accommodate Emily with her own downstairs bedroom and wet room.
Don't mean to preach but this is the reality of raising a disabled child that may not live into 20's.

God luck with that. To raise a disabled child.must be extremely difficult and one i couldn't do myself if i'm honest.
Don't you get help with a carers allowance ?

Maybe it's the difficulty with tone of messages, as it certainly read to me like you were having a pop at the OP - my apologies for misconstruing your intentions!
