Ryan - 7.5 surprisingly little to do, but what he did was faultless apart from a couple of ambitious kicks that went straight into touch
Duffy - 9 totally immense
Dunk - 9 totally immense
Bruno -8 great game
Bong - 8 great game, rarely beaten
Stephens - 8 went about his business as usual, fewer mistakes tonight
Propper - 8.5 getting better and better
Gross - 7.5 looked slightly off the pace compared to usual but still alright
Knockaert - 7 cut a frustrated figure at times, particularly first half. Better in second
Izquierdo - 7.5 great goal, not quite in everyone’s wavelength yet but promising
Murray - 8 scored two, should have been 4, too many niggly fouls

March -7
Brown - 7
Schelotto - not on long enough

Hughton - 9. We were battered for 30 mins in first half but even then not really threatened much. Came out very positive second half.

Fans - 10. Couldn’t hear WHU at all, will be interested to play it back later and see whether it came across as good as it felt !

I would go with these marks tho have to say from row 72 of tier 2 at times it was difficult to make out individual players....

Ryan did what he had to very well , if he could kick it out and it stayed on the pitch it would be nice but iv'e a sneaky feeling this maybe a actuall tactic to run down the clock . 7
Bruno some superb touches to ease the pressure broke up play beautifully on occasions very good game 8.5
Duffy yet another excellent performance in truth given a easy time by the west ham forwards 8
Dunk i think he will be learning a little bit of get by Russian in the not to distant future 8.5
Bong He did ok not really tested on his outside much at all where i think he is at his weakest , made a couple of vital inteceptions his movement forward with the ball was excellent 8
Stephens he wins so many 2nd balls and seems to be in the right place all the time , a couple of misplaced passes but thats nitpicking 8
Propper now for me he is just getting better and better , if you look at our 2nd goal the way he controlled the ball and skipped past their man was brilliant lots of positives tonight 9 MOM
Knockaert was a bit quiet for periods of the game but came alive in patches not seen any highlights yet but keep a eye on him going to celebrate our 2nd :lolol: 7
Gross the man is a machine he was all over the place , superb delivery , tenacious tackling loved watching him put himself about looked all out on 60 minutes good call replacing him 8
Izquierdo Lovely taken goal obviously but he ran himself into the ground defending when he had to , nice to see him so happy after the game with the fans . 8.5
Murray well what can you say he maybe 200 years old but he still knows where the net is , could have had another goal but i'm not complaining 8.5

I think it's tactical defending tbh. Frustrate the opposition and absorb their threat. With Duffy and Dunk defending like they are playing head tennis for fun is a game in itself and can do that all day long. Give the opposition a false sense of security and turn the screw.

Ryan - 7 - Not much to do but did most of it well - some very wayward kicking at times though
Bruno - 8.5 - A vintage performance - putting the naysayers back in their box yet again
Dunk - 9 - That might be the performance that puts him in contention for a call up
Duffy - 9 - Another imperious performance from the ig man - these two are beginning to make a name for themselves
Bong - 9 - Wow! that was probably his best performance for us. the number of times he took the ball out from defence and looked so confident.
Knocky - 7.5 - he won't be making any headlines this time, but he had a really strong game.
Stephens - 8 - Much better than the everton game - back to his best
Pröpper - 8.5 - Awesome - I like this guy a lot..
Izqi - 8 - Good game - He's quick isn't he? Great goal - should have latched onto a great pass in the second half.
Groß - 8.5 - WIthout doubt the best piece of business we've done for a long time ( and we do very well) - Murray must be absolutely loving having him around
Murray - 9 - What a guy! Back with a vengeance.

Solly - 7 - Glad he came on, as he probably felt hard done by to be dropped. Did well, but the game was already won.
Schelotto - n/a
Brown - n/a

MOTM - The defence - snuffed out everything

Last night will go down as one of our most memorable away victories and was symbolically very important. It's natural for people to be swept up in the euphoria of it all and I suspect that some of the ratings on this thread are 1 or 2 points higher than an objective assessment!

Ryan - 7 - Has recovered from a shocking start to become Mr. Consistent. One or two sharp saves last night, but oddly, his kicking which was supposed to be his big strength, seems to let him down on occasions.

Bruno - 7.5 - Classic Bruno performance, with some lovely touches, interspersed with one or two lapses which on another night, against better opposition, might have cost us. In summary, brilliant, yet sometimes leaves us exposed.

Dunk - 8 - Very good

Duffy - 9 (MOM) - A man mountain. Dominant aerial performance.

Bong - 7 - Funny how we see things differently. I thought in the first half, their left wing had the beating of him and turned him quite easily a couple of times. That said, he looked strong on the ball and linked up well with Izquierdo.

Knockaert - 6.5 - Fairly average game, with the exception of a sublime run in the second half, which should have resulted super Glen scoring

Stephens - 7 - Became more influential as the game wore on

Propper - 8.5 - Very good indeed. Getting more influential as each game passes.

Izquierdo - 8 - Lovely goal and always a threat. Perhaps still not totally match sharp and should have had a clear run in on goal.

Groß - 7.5 - In general play, perhaps not his best game for us, but if he serves it up on a platter a couple of times every game, what's not to like? Looking like a great signing.

Murray - 7.5 - Good header for the opening goal and worked hard for us, but had two other great chances in which he should have scored, but made it too easy for the keeper (one from Knocky's run in the second half, the other in the first half just before the second goal).

Fiveways
Ryan 7 -- did what he had to do well, let's hope he has many more games as easy as this
Bruno 7.5 -- flair
Duffy 9 MotM -- a beast and a brick wall
Dunk 8 - class
Bong 8 -- best game I've seen him play for us; was troubled a bit by Antonio in the first half, but stuck at it, carried the ball extremely well and made good decisions
Knockaert 8 -- thought he played a lot better than others on here do, carried a threat throughout
Stephens 9 -- again, I thought he was streets ahead of other reviews; just ran the show
Propper 8.5 -- he's such a good player
Izquiedro 6 -- great goal, but wasn't over-impressed with what else he did
Gross 7.5 -- typically impressive work rate, and another assist
Murray 7 -- very cool penalty, some good hold-up play, but he could have had four, and I do think he should have shot earlier for that chance in the second half when brilliantly set up by Knockaert

Northern Hemisphere.
Ryan 7- wasn't really tested but it's pretty clear now what a good signing he is. Who's David Stockdale?

Bruno- 8 Played brilliantly tonight. Showed his class under pressure and was very good at maintaining the ball.

Dunk 9- Future England captain. Wins everything in the air and blocks everything going at goal. Soon to be the greatest footballer Brighton and Hove has ever produced.

Duffy 8- Did pretty much everything Dunk did, but just hasn't got the ball playing ability to make him as cultured as Dunk. A rock solid performance. Must be one of Ireland's best players.

Bong 8- What a performance. Probably the best performance he's had for us. He didn't allow Antonio to get around him once making Antonio look very frustrated everytime he was tackled by Bong. Deserves to start the next match.

Knockaert 7- A very quite performance in the 1st half. Looked like he was scared to use his strengths in running at players and unlocking their defence. A much better 2nd half performance where he went on a brilliant run and played a lovely through ball. Contributed to the penalty with a brilliant disguised pass to Bruno which gave him the space to put in a good cross which resulted in the Pen.

Stephens 7- Best performance so far this season. Some lovely touches. He played a very classy back heel when under pressure from 2 of their players down the left wing in our own half. I'm confident there's more to come from him too.

Propper 7- Played some great passes and a few over hit passes but again, like against Everton, showed why Holland are picking him. It was him who managed another beautiful flick around the West Ham player to give him the time and space to pick out Ezquirdo who then went on to smash one in. Improving game by game. Looks like a very astute signing.

Izquierdo 7- Brilliant goal. Tracked back at times and made some brilliant sliding tackles from behind with his right foot to support Bong. Made a few bad errors when under pressure for example, when he tried a Cruyff turn in our final 3rd and was caught out which put us under pressure. Still needs to get more involved and doesn't always show signs of having the best technique in the world, but with being able to produce a goal like that when we were very much under the cosh at that time, shows what a handy player he just might turn out to be, especially against the big clubs who are pressing us.

Gross- 7 Consistent and knows when to make the pass. He plays like he's been playing in this division for years. A brilliant footballing brain and a player with great vision. Signing of the season so far. Well done to our scouting department.

Murray 8- showed some some brilliant flicks. His hold up play was a lot better than against Everton. A typical Glenn Murray header putting all his power into the header from a ball which came from behind him (very hard technique) whilst directing the ball just where you'd want it to go. A cool penalty as well. Very impressed with his defensive duties too. Won a lot of defensive headers. Hughton must love him.
