Forgive me for this bit of self-indulgence, but I thought I would share it with you. In a week's time my 9 year old grandson, Harry, is on a school football trip to Barcelona. This would include playing two games, training with the players at Espanyol and visiting the Nou Camp (or Camp Nou). No doubt part of the itinerary will be visiting the Barcelona club shop to buy whatever goodies are available, including of course, the club shirt.
Now my daughter is somewhat concerned as she has learnt that a replica Barcelona shirt would cost northwards of £100. She has told Harry that it's too expensive and would it upset him not to have one despite his friends getting one.
Here's the best bit - "Not at all." says Harry, "The only shirt I want to wear is my Brighton one. They're the team I support and it's not right to wear another team's shirt."
Harry, I'm proud of you! Trip to the club shop for you next time at the Amex.
