Could Palace score against themselves?

On a theoretical basis ?

Not own goals but if the team was to literally duplicate as if from the script of a footbal based sci fi horror film set in Croydon.

If we're going to theorise with limitless possibility, then under the principles of String Theory (where apparently unconnected particles interact with other particles in ways that we cannot observe), it would then suggest that some of the physical particles of Palace players are actually interacting with particles of Manchester City, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Brightnovalbion and even Bognor Regis players whenever they score goals.

In this reality, Crystal Palace players are scoring all of the time, but they're not getting the credit they deserve.

No only could we not score if we played ourselfs, but we probably would concede at least a couple

Like Schrodinger's football match.

They cannot score, yet they cannot keep a clean sheet. So if they played themselves, a paradox would be created, possibly causing a rip in the space/time continuum and sucking us all into a black hole.

In some parallel universe there is a free-scoring Palace team who have won every game.

Must say I prefer this version.

Having thought about this.

They can technically score against themselves but everytime a goal is scored a goal is scored against.

Thus the game will always end in a draw.

Even though the likelihood of Palace conceding is usually high, since they are both playing Palace the likelihood is very low.

The game cannot possibly end in any result but a nil nil draw.
