Has Ricky lambert been released by Liverpool ? If so can an out of contract player start outside of the transfer window ?

I can see this coming off if Roy puts on some additional fitness and conditioning sessions, plus basic ball control / technique drills over the next few days.
After all, it's the best chance the rest of the squad have got to get themselves up to Ricky's level.
