Raw veg is pretty good for you, I read somewhere that you can/should eat broccoli raw, can't say I understand that.

But it got me thinking about which veg is genuinely a pleasure to eat raw.

My favs are spring onions, radishes, cucumber, tomato, red onion in small amounts. Not a great fan or raw carrot, but that can probably be counted as being reasonably nice raw.

What did I miss?

What veg do you like to eat raw?

Crudités are raw veg of various types and nice with a good dip. Adding to the lists above bell-peppers.

**** raw broccoli florets, steam that shit and toss in butter. Broccoli stalk raw is where it's at, shaved into salad. BOSH.

Personally I quite like raw potatos but I suspect I'm in the minority.
Carrots and cauliflower too.

Isn't raw potato poisonous?

That's what I've always been told.

I think with raw vegetables the age is a major factor - small young florets of broccoli and cauliflower are fine, but when they've grown large they really need cooking. Peas are nice raw - sugar snap peas in particular are great. So is baby sweetcorn.
