Many have said that Pulis is the master at PL survival. Well the composition of his squad may give a clue as to his thinking/strategy.

GK.........3
DEF........6
MID.......13
FOR.......3

Concentrate on the engine room. Pack the squad with decent midfielders, a solid back line and set the side up to break quickly and be strong on set-pieces. He clearly has no intention of being overrun in midfield and will not run out of options. By being solid throughout, they give themselves the chance of racking up 1-0 wins.

And dare I mention .... he has strikers. Goals can help a team's prospects, apparently.

The front three options they have are Rondon, Rodriguez and Hal Robson Kanu... wouldn't expect our back line to be fearful of that. Dunk and Duffy should be able to keep them quiet. A good portion of their goals do come from corners and free kicks though, just need to be careful nothing silly is given away.

Are all these defenders CBs? And how many of those 13 midfielders also fill in at full back? Pulis likes a CB, a bit like Guardiola likes a skilful midfielder.

Nyom and Gibbs are proper full backs. Evans, Hegazy, Dawson and McAuley are all centre backs. Brunt plays left back from time to time, as did Evans last season. Dawson and McAuley have both spent time at right back.

It's also why he wanted Ben Gibson, so he could stick him at left back when required.

Rondon can be an absolute handful on his day - I certainly hope we don't take him lightly.

Agreed. Robson Kanu suspended, but Rodriguez is decent too.

Do they have any young U21 options up front who may make the bench?
