I saw that. He'll thank his mum when he gets back to school and all his schoolmates rip it out of him for chickening out. It's the mum's fault anyway. Here's how this should have played out:

"Mum can I go on the zip wire"
"No. It's £30"
"But I really want to"
"You're 8, it doesn't matter what you want"

End of.

Surely they realised the whole point of a zip wire is that it's "frightening".

Zipwire Blip Leaves Family Devastated

Arsegas headline

I loved the story. What on earth would possess her to go to the papers.
Give it a day and the headline will be "striker transfer business leaves fan devastated" with a sad picture of any one of NSCs finest whingers.

Nothing evokes nostalgic images of rural England, of Constables Haywain, babbling brooks running into ice still mill ponds, of rosy cheeked vicars daughters cavorting in the golden hayfields with the big eared boys from the farm , of the villagers pitching in with the harvest because Old Farmer Moseley can't suffer another poor yield this year, of butter in a cold dish in the larder, cats stirring on the barn beams, a distant braying, shire horses swishing their tails, swallows returning to the long grass, old boys drinking cider brandy and whistling at the policeman's daughter quite as much as a packet of "Ye Olde Oaktree" frozen weiners.
