From memory its the transfer side of things that needs completing. Sure someone posted on one of the threads last week about a case where someone was signed on deadline day but failed to get a work permit so they had to return to their previous club

If I was in charge of the purse strings I would make it a necessity. Player has to be registered with us by close of deadline, don't think many clubs would want to sign a player and name within the 25 if one wasn't in place, unless it was almost 100% guaranteed of it going through. Club really can't afford a player on the books taking wages and a sign on, especially as resale value would also be harmed when trying to get rid later on.
