I would use 4-4-2 but since we haven't managed to sign a striker for 3.5 months we can't.

Hopefully a new striker will be on the bench by Saturday. Gross offers absolutely nothing so wouldn't even have him on the bench.

I agree. Maybe bring in Rosenior instead of Suttner. Will need his experience away and the defending for the first goal was pathetic. Definitely start Sidwell if he's available too.

After the ath Madrid friendly everyone said Gross a quality signing. After two games in the PL he isn't worth a place on bench. Deary me.

I agree that he poor yesterday but he looked good against Atléti and wasn't bad against City. It seems a little premature to write him off so soon.

I'd quite like us to go with 3 at the back at some point as well. More or less all top teams doing it now and Sheff Utd going well with it in Championship.
Same 3 up top and then Uwe in for one of the CMs, Stephens for me personally.

There are so many tactical knock on effects of 3 at the back though. We're already struggling to score goals and 3 at the back could easily become 5 with that 5 stuck on our 18 yard box all game and the two wider men in the front 3 pulled back into auxiliary wide midfield positions to support the defence... we're too defensive as it is at the moment.

Its tough to adapt. Ask Palace,
And hardly widely adopted across the Prem League let alone elsewhere.
Bournemouth, Watford, Burnley, West Brom, Leicester, Liverpool, Southampton, West Ham, Spurs, Newcastle and us have all started with a back 4 this season.
