Away pub had real ale and offered me a sample and it was good and it was only £3 pint
A drum.
Clackers but little used.
Bin liners (but no orchestration to wave them).
Massive home applause for Knocky.
PA announcer paused when reading out our team so we could applaud.
Friendly staff & security. 'Here to help' girls.
I thought we were in Blue after the yellow team nearly scored in 30 seconds.
Police escort for the coaches post match, M1 by 5:30.

Apart from the football a thoroughly enjoyable away day. Stewards friendly and helpful and the several Leicester fans i spoke to were very nice and knowledgeable.

One thing I learned today, Singha beer is horrible, I will not slag off the Fosters at the Amex again.
Glad I found a decent bar before going to the stadium.

Huge queues outside to get in. I missed kick off despite getting to the stadium at 2.35. All overseen by utterly inept stewards.

Overflowing toilets closed and huge queues for others. All in very cramped concourses.

Boring, unfunny homophobic chanting from thick northern fans.

Horribly dull stadium in a hideous town.

Up there with the worst places to visit in English football for me.

But other than that you enjoyed it?

Just like Filbert Street then.

Yes, there was a 2nd Xl match going on and the bar was open (so I heard afterwards)

Someone mentioned a cricket club bar on Friday, this was a thread about pubs.
We went to a cricket club that was about 5 minutes walk from the stadium, not Leicestershire CCC, just a local team.
There was a match being played, and they had a large bar but unfortunately it was closed.

It's the Electricity Board Cricket Club. I walked past and watched an over or two before before I went to the King Power and the clubhouse looked open.
I wondered if it was a similar set-up to Burnley

There were a few blokes drinking cans sitting outside the pavilion, changing rooms and kitchen were open ( kitchen probably for players teas) .
Bar was definitely closed though, this was about 1.15. But we found a bar nearby that was really good, looked like a function room but it's open for football fans on match days.

Queues outside the turnstiles were very long due to only having one gate open on each and a stupid stop and search section which was incredibly slow moving.

Also their ticket scanner was rubbish so was taking everyone ten goes to get it to work.

Ps) catering stafff were on one of the biggest go slows I've ever seen.

One of the worst away day experiences for a long time. Totally unresponsive to the long queues of increasingly impatient fans outside the ground as kick off approached. It will be interesting to see whether or not this is repeated elsewhere in the PL. My guess is it will be as away fans are at best seen as an irrelevance, at worst something to be discouraged at all costs.

Pretty normal all round I thought. Decent enough pub nearby, very busy with the pints poured from the bottom gizmo for speed. A few 'jolly and gurny' away fans getting the singing going, a turnstile broken to slow entrance a little, one busted bog to frustrate any males with prostate concerns, and some of our fans being a little naughty during the game.
A few behind me from 'normal' professions like the rest of us I assume trying to tell pro footballers what they were doing wrong.
Just another 'away'.

Roll on Watford.

Think hideous town is a bit harsh, but it is pretty DULL. Stadium is flat packed and characterless
