According to the Dutch press we've signed Soufyan Ahannach. 21 year old attacking midfielder. Probably one for the development squad.

The DS is finally building the talent pool to work with whether it's to bring players through to the first team or to sell-on at a profit

We are turning into Huddersfield !

Er No. We do research, play a waiting game, negotiate trickier signings, find players that others have missed, get good value. Udders blasted it, partly because of having so many loan players. and it may work for them, Wagner has a good way of getting best from what he has, but our approach is different.

Cant be DS as not 21 on 1 Jan 2018 - had same query re Izquierdo who was born a few days apart from SA.

Our development squad play in the Premier League 2 which is for players under 23.

Soufyan Ahannach was born Sept 1995 and Izquierdo was born in July1992 more than a few days apart.

Soufyan Ahannach would not qualify as an under 21 for our Premier League squad, he'd have to be named as part of the 25, but that has no bearing on him being eligible for our development squad.

Be interesting to have an insight into the scouting of players behind the scenes. Like how we can to know of this chap and who scouted him for us?

Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of winger Soufyan Ahannach from Dutch Eerste Divisie side Almere City.

The 21-year-old, who predominantly plays as a left winger, joins the first-team squad on a three-year contract on undisclosed terms.

Ahannach helped his former club reach the Dutch second-tier play-offs last season, scoring an impressive 18 goals and claiming 15 assists in 42 appearances throughout the campaign.

Manager Chris Hughton said, "We are pleased to welcome Soufyan to the club; he's a young player with a lot of talent and good potential.

"He's has done very well playing senior football in Holland in recent seasons and we look forward to seeing more of what Soufyan is capable of over the coming weeks and months."

The winger made his first appearance for Almere City in 2012 and hit the back of the net 32 times in 97 appearances for the Dutch club.
