Skalak must be fake news. Many NSC contributors this summer have advised us that he will be a surprise package in the PL, without the physicality of a gruelling 46 game Championship season.

I followed Waris back when he was playing for BK Hacken in Sweden. He was the league's top scorer back in 2012 and scoring for fun in mediocre side who finished runners up (vardy with leicester comparison). I remember Chelsea, Liverpool and a few other top sides were rumoured in him but he ended up going to Spartak Moscow of all sides. Suffered an injury and loss of form then was shipped out to France and Turkey for a while. Naturally gifted player who has pace to burn but hasn't been consistent for a few seasons. If fit and available on the cheap then he could be a good signing.

I remember that when we signed Skalak there was also interest from QPR so wouldn't be surprised if they were still interested.

I think he would miss many of his African mates on that side. He was the finisher but a great team was the one setting up those finishing touches. I'm not sure he'd have that in the Albion.
