The first one was a bit close (sort of), the second one was laughable. Murphy started his run two metres the right side of the defender AFTER the ball was played.

I wouldn't suggest for a moment that his ineptitude is the reason he stuck his flag up. The trouble is when you point stuff like this out you're labelled a conspiracist and undermined.

Assuming decent fitness levels being a linesman is not very difficult on the whole having done it many times myself outside of the professional game. It CAN be very difficult on tight calls but 9 out of 10 times it is comfortable to call one way or the other. Both those decisions were comfortable ones as shown on the Spanish channel and he was directly in line with them.

So yea, catalan pride is my guess. (in before someone tells me the linos were French).
