How do you think the club will categorise matches who will go as Cat A B C for the upcoming season:

Would expect it to be something like this:

CAT A

Liverpool Man Utd Man City Spurs Arsenal Chelsea

CAT B

West Ham Palace Newcastle Everton Southampton Leicester

CAT C

Burnley West Brom Stoke Huddersfield Swansea Watford Bournemouth

Probably not too far away, although Palace and Everton could be "A" and Bournemouth could be "B".

Everton will have a toffee. Dundee will have a cake. And Arsenal will be left out altogether.

Part of the category is to do with the number of police needed.

That's a common misconception.

There's two categories at play:

The club: rate games on "attractiveness"
The police: rate games on likelihood of trouble

The two are completely independent, and essentially, inverse. The club's highest category is "A" whilst the police's highest category is "C".

So, in many, cases, the club's category A fixtures may well be police category C but not necessarily and, as above, there is no formal connection between them at all.

Thanks for the info.
