...has just signed for Oxford.

I'm trying to sweeten the pill for my Oxford-supporting friends.

But he was terrible wasn't he.

Can anyone think of anything positive to say about him?

They'll be well pleased with this, I'd imagine. He's done okay in the noddy leagues, and they have the bonus of stealing him away from a hated rival.

Just because certain players have a mare when playing for the Albion, it doesn't mean they can't, (and won't), cut the mustard when playing for other clubs.

Obviously not very good when playing in the Championship, but every player has his level. Did well enough at Swindon when dropping down a level, and no reason to think Obika won't do similar good things whilst wearing an Oxford shirt.

Completely useless.

People moan about Tiltman, but he did one thing at Championship level, that was apparently beyond Obika............... score.

I think he would be an excellent signing and I am unanimous in that.

He scored a good goal at Port Vale in the FA cup, which is more than some loanees do. Akpom, for instance.

Who were a L1 or L2 team at the time, so perhaps his actual level.

No matter. He scored. We couldn't beat Lincoln in the FA cup, this season.

I don't like sneering at players, now we're doing well.

Of course it matters, the league is the 'bread and butter' for a player, if he can't score or doesn't even look likely to, then he's at the wrong level.

I 'sneered' at him at the time as well, bit like Akpom and Best as well, the fact that Obika was actually trying and was still appalling says it all really.

Appalling but still got more talent in his big toe than you or I.

Good luck to him. At the end of the day he is doing what most on here would probably give their right arm to do, ie earning a living playing football.
