Well I must say this is completely outrageous behaviour

A WOMAN is set to appear in court - after she was allegedly found walking an injured seagull on a lead

Police were called to Parliament Street in York to reports of the incident, and a spokeswoman said the seagull was on a lead at the time.

The force spokeswoman said: "On arrival, officers discovered that the seagull was injured.

"A 44-year-old woman, of no fixed address, has been charged with using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress, taking a wild bird, and injuring a wild bird."

I am a Yorkshireman. The tethering and injuring of sea birds, while simultaneously verbally abusing passers by, is one of Yorkshire's great traditions and should be preserved at all costs. Don't ridicule what you are not equipped to understand.
