But looking at building from scratch.
What card did you upgrade to?

AMD R9 380 , my brother builds computers so I've left it to him as I know nothing!

Looking forward to that as well, hoping my PC will handle it well enough. I don't spend enough time gaming anymore to warrant forking out a load of money for upgrades.

Nah nor do I, haven't for a good few years but my laptop packed up and I saw the COD trailer around the same time so thought I'd go down the PC route

Ahh nice.
I've been on for 2 weeks also I think.

Serious handicap though as I'm getting on average 13 fps, playing at 800x600 due to the weak pc.
Second once, third a few times and plenty of top 10's, so I'm just about coping with it!

Such a fun game though, especially in Squads.

Any ideas of a decent PC without spending a fortune that will play the forthcoming COD and other up to date games plus the usual office stuff.

Cheers

I've used PC Specialist in the past. Lets you customize your build and you can pay on finance with no interest as long as you pay it off within 12 months..

Squads are the only way I play now. In solo's it kind of just turns into a running simulator and you can get dropped in one shot after not even firing your gun!

I paid 450 which includes a big screen for gaming, mostly parts off ebay, already had speakers, mouse and keyboard

If you want to enjoy the game as it was designed, maxed out at a smooth 60fps in 1080p you're looking at around £750-£1000 just for the tower.

If you're looking at 2k or 4k monitors then the tower would be around £1200-£2000

You can get a great 1080 @ 60fps for under £500 new.
Med-High settings with no 4K or VR.
All you need is 8-16GB ram and a GTX1060.

1080 @ 60 really isn't going to cost more than £600 tops for the tower.

Not if you want your 1% lows never to be under 60fps.

Also, i did say maxed out.

GTX 1050ti, beautiful card at a decent price.

As for PUBG, I'm not sure what to think. It's so poorly optimised and the weapons just don't feel like they're going to deal damage. I know it's a game in alpha development, but it's frustrating at times.

I keep meaning to get this, I played PR for such a long time that I got genuinely excited by the prospect of Squad - it'll never quite fulfill what Arma 3 has done for me though.
